Elizabeth “Lizzi” Savage is an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist and Registered Professional Nurse with over 20 years of practice across diverse clinical settings, including medicine, surgery, orthopedics, psychiatry, substance use disorders, emergency medicine, wound care, and ostomy care. She holds board certifications as an Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, Wound Care Nurse, and Ostomy Nurse.
Ms. Savage currently serves as the Wound & Ostomy Program Manager at New York University Langone Health System, where she provides strategic leadership in the coordination and delivery of care for both inpatient and outpatient populations with wound, ostomy, and continence needs. Her work emphasizes quality improvement, clinical education, mentorship, and process optimization to enhance patient outcomes and care delivery.
In addition to her clinical leadership, Ms. Savage has contributed her expertise as a consultant to leading healthcare companies, including Medline, EHOB, Hollister, and ConvaTec. She is also an active legal nurse consultant and expert witness in medical malpractice cases.
More recently, Ms. Savage has focused on leveraging artificial intelligence to improve healthcare efficiency, reflecting her ongoing commitment to innovation, quality, and patient advocacy. In 2025, she was honored as a Fellow by the Clinical Nurse Specialist Institute.
Her publications underscore her dedication to advancing care for patients living with wounds and ostomies, as well as supporting the clinicians who serve them.
