(S03) Lunch Symposia - Nothing is More Powerful Than An Idea Whose Time Has Come: Peristomal Hygiene

Ostomy leakage and associated peristomal complications are a global concern demanding attention. Peristomal Hygiene is a foundational protocol of care that can address this challenge. An international panel of experts met to develop this protocol especially cognizant of the shortage of ostomy specialists in some care settings and in some resource challenged nations. This symposium will describe this four-step peristomal hygiene protocol of care designed to support evidence-informed self-care and effective clinical practice.
