Description

Mucous fistula refeeding supports growth and intestinal adaptation in pediatric patients, yet practice variation persists due to gaps in implementation standards and pouching solutions. This session highlights an interprofessional approach developed by a children’s hospital Wound Ostomy team in collaboration with surgical and nursing partners to establish a safe, evidence-based refeeding process. Participants will learn practical strategies to optimize safety and pouching techniques, along with tools and outcomes to guide implementation and standardization across diverse pediatric care settings.
