Michael J. Kennelly, MD is Professor of Urology at Wake Forest School of Medicine and Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, where he also serves as Director of Urology at Carolinas Rehabilitation Hospital and Director of the Charlotte and Cabarrus Continence Centers. A fellowship‑trained specialist in female urology, neurourology, urodynamics, and reconstructive urology, Dr. Kennelly is board‑certified with subspecialty certification in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.
A past president of multiple national spinal cord injury and neurourology organizations, he currently serves as Secretary of the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine & Urogenital Reconstruction. Over his career, he has led and participated in numerous clinical trials and has authored extensive peer‑reviewed publications and educational materials in urinary incontinence, neurogenic bladder, and complex lower urinary tract reconstruction. Dr. Kennelly is recognized for his national and international teaching, research leadership, and long-standing clinical focus on improving outcomes for patients with voiding dysfunction.
