Dr. Pittman is an Associate Professor at the University of South Alabama. Dr. Pittman is an Adult & Family Nurse Practitioner, certified WOC nurse, WOCN Society Fellow, Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, SANE trained, past National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel (NPIAP) board member and vice president, and current WOCN Treasurer.

Dr. Pittman has been in clinical practice as a WOC nurse for more than 25 years. Her research focuses on pressure injuries, health equity, and WOC issues. She has conducted multiple research studies examining ostomy complications and management.
