Dr. Dea J. Kent began her WOC nurse era in 2000, graduating from the Emory University WOCNEP Program. Graduating with her first nursing degree from Indiana University in 1988, Dr. Kent has invested 38 years in the nursing profession. Since specializing in WOC care, she has become a transformational leader in the profession, known for inspiring change and excellence in practice. She serves as the MSN Graduate Program Director Indiana University-Kokomo and maintains WOC clinical practice both in consulting and as a provider in hospice care. In 2025, she was inducted as a Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse Fellow secondary to her work in the WOC arena, and has served as Past-President of the WOC Nurses Society.
