Kathleen Hunter PhD, RN, NP

Profile
Dr. Kathleen Hunter is a Professor in the University of Alberta Faculty of Nursing, Adjunct Professor Division of Geriatric Medicine and Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Continence Advisor with the Glenrose Hospital Continence Clinic. Her research interests include the interaction of continence with geriatric syndromes (falls, dementia, mobility) and hospital care for older persons. Dr. Hunter has taught on continence and aging to undergraduate and graduate nursing students, interprofessional groups and lay audiences in Canada, the US and China. She is a member of the International Continence Society, having served on the Nursing Committee and is currently on the Scientific Committee. She has authored research articles and book chapters on continence, with a recent publication in JWOCN on nurse and health care aid knowledge of continence promotion and management for older persons in hospital.
