The StomaGenie® Ostomy Output Capture Cartridge is a single-use, biodegradable device, lined with superabsorbent odor control fabric, used to assist in applying the pouching system properly and hygienically. With the cartridge covering an exposed stoma, it reduces the risk of skin contamination, from small drips to flowing output, promoting healthier peristomal skin.
The StomaGenie can be used with all ostomies, ileostomy, urostomy and fluid colostomies. In addition, the cartridge can be used with both 1 and 2-piece pouches regardless of manufacturer.
Starting from Day 1 after ostomy surgery, the recovery process can be both physically and emotionally demanding. By using StomaGenie from the outset, patients can manage their output while their stoma is exposed, reducing related anxiety. This allows them to absorb crucial education and practice self-care, facilitating a smoother and more positive recovery. Consequently, they will adapt to life with a stoma more quickly and comfortably.
We will be introducing StomaGenie's Discharge Kit this year. The Kit will contain 15 cartridges in various sizes to accommodate a new stoma and potential reduction in size. We look forward to sharing more in person!
StomaGenie comes in 12 sizes and is Medicare reimbursable under HCPCS A5081 (30/mo) and covered by most health insurance companies. Distribution is available through most major distributors such as Byram Healthcare, Edgepark, 180 Medical, Medline, etc.
