Histologics developed a medical fabric called Kylon®, that when applied to tissue with pressure, surgically removes and transports necrotic debris or wound base tissue for histological samples The Kylon® also serves as a container that traps the dislodged tissue, which is can be detached from the handle devices and transported to the lab for culture or pathology analysis. This technology is transforming both diagnostics for cervical biopsies (histologics.com), and more recently, wound care.
