The WatchCare™ Incontinence Management System elevates the patient experience and enhances safety through real time incontinence care. Through sensor technology built into the bed used in combination with a disposable smart pad, caregivers are alterted of incontinence events in real time helping to reduce exposure time for patients.

Skin can be comprimised in as little as 15 minutes after exposure to moisture, despite the use of a premium underpad. Caregivers reported that a wait time of greater than 15 minutes in unacceptable for incontinence care. Despite this, incontinence is usually only detected during hourly rounded instead of real time. Moisture alerts allow staff to proactively anticipate patient needs, before entering the patient's room, providing patients and family with peace of mind. 

Studies show that 47% of hospital patients are incontinent, and of those, 45% have incontinence-associated dermatitis during their stay. Incontinent patients are 3.7 times more likely to develop a relevant pressure injury than continent patients. The WatchCare™ sytem provides timely alerts to help reduce patient exposure to moisture which may minimize the threat of painful IAD and full-thickness pressure injuries.
